Mi Casa Es Su Casa

The morning yesterday consisted of sandcastles on the beach in “Eliza’s grotto”, walks on the beach for Mary and Jenifer, and coffee on the deck with my kindle and a Jo Nesbo novel I hadn’t yet read. We then headed off to the new Grand Solmar Kidz Club with an indoor tree house, video game stations, a movie theater, art studio and playground, manned by Tinkerbell and her staff. Very cute. There were a few kids watching Despicable Me in the movie area, and we got the tour, but Eliza opted to hang with Mom and Dad so we went on with the rest of our day a bit earlier.

Eliza was fascinated by the glass blower at the Glass Factory, watching him make a beautiful green glass dolphin and a couple of other pieces while the ladies shopped, although Eliza did get to pick out a couple of items herself. There were 3 cruise ships in port so the place was hopping, with 2 or 3 large tour busses in the parking lot.

We went on to shop in the center of town, and let me suffice it to say that Jenifer’s tough negotiating skills work for jewelry as well as baked beans.

We headed to Mi Casa for lunch, and sat in a shaded area of their back courtyard with brightly colored chairs and tables. We had an excellent lunch including yellowtail Veracruz, pork spareribs with a mole-like chile and tamarind adobo, shrimp tacos, and queso asado with chorizo. The cruise ships made themselves evident as the restaurant had a buffet set up in one of their side rooms and while we were there 3 or 4 busloads of cruisers funneled in and out for lunch. It was a beautiful setting for a delicious lunch.

When we returned Mary was spending some quality time with her nephew Michael, who now lives here with his family and sells vacation ownership at a resort in San Jose del Cabo. We had a great time chatting with him and will see him again later in the week.

It was a low-key evening with much hilarity over a Toy Story clip we watched several times on our ipads or laptops, room service and martinis on the patio. It was a beautiful night with a moon that lit up the mountains.

Massages on the beach this morning! Yay!
Adiós por ahora
